You may be asking yourself “Why CBD? Aren’t you a coffee company?” One thing I’ve always wanted for Inferno was for our company to represent everything righteous in this world. I wanted Inferno to represent the individuals who are conscious about what they’re putting into their bodies - those who were taking the extra steps to make choices that benefited their health.

An Uphill Battle

In today's world it seems to be harder and harder to make health conscious choices. People are being prescribed opioids for long term pain management. The local grocery store sells us food with chemicals that most of us can't even pronounce. What’s really in our tap water? Why are cancer rates through the roof? It seems to be increasingly challenging to continue to make good health choices thanks to the easier (often unhealthy) alternatives that are offered to us.

These thoughts and questions brought me to an idea - Inferno - and has sparked a passion in me to bring these topics to the forefront of people’s minds, to discuss, and to reconsider our options. I was determined to find alternative answers, ones that involved more wholesome, natural remedies which, moving forward, would better enable us to live happy and healthy lives the way that we all deserve to. Thus I would like to introduce Ignite by Inferno. Ignite your passions and take back your health. It's time to spark the conversation about CBD (Cannabidiols).

Did you know that firefighters are 3x more likely to get cancer than the average citizen? This was not something I was aware of until I became a firefighter myself. During training and working full time as a firefighter, you receive ongoing training and education that can be used to help decrease your exposure to carcinogens, thereby reducing the risk of getting certain cancers. This includes decontamination after a fire, cleaning your gear regularly and making sure you shower and clean every inch of your body after being exposed to any toxins. Even with this training and knowledge, the rate of cancer remains high within our demographic. This led me to search for something more, something that might give us more of an upper hand when combating the negative effects of the day to day duties of a firefighter.

I first learned about CBD two years ago. I almost couldn't believe some of the claims that were made about the benefits of using CBD. The more I heard, the more I felt that CBD’s and firefighting would one day be interconnected. Thanks to continued research, the list of benefits of CBD’s (attributed to their complex chemical makeup) continues to grow. Anti-inflammatory properties may potentially help counteract the demanding daily activities of a firefighter, and may also help the human body combat certain cancers.

The National Cancer Institute reviews several studies that show cannabidiols may have a protective affect against cancer. The reviews included research investigating the benefits of CBD treatment for a variety of cancers, namely breast, colorectal, and lung cancers. A 2013 review published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology cites that CBD soothes nausea and vomiting, acts as an antioxidant to reduce free radicals that cause neurodegenerative disorders, and works as an anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling. CBD can also stimulate appetite and relieve pain, in addition to being useful in combating psychological issues including working as an antipsychotic.

CBD works to reduce chronic anxiety and depression disorders as well. These benefits of CBD are also helpful for patients struggling with temporary anxiety and depression resulting from a more serious medical condition or PTSD. Through my own experience, I have seen the benefits first hand, and am now an advocate for the benefits CBD can provide.

CBD has personally helped me deal with my anxiety. Through traumatic incidents that happened in my early adulthood, I developed a certain state of mind that made it difficult for me to relax in public gatherings. Using CBD has not only helped me deal with my anxiety, but it has also helped me learn how to reflect and appreciate the moment at hand.

Canada is a pioneer, as the first of the G7 countries to legalize cannabis nationwide, allowing for large amounts of research supporting the use of CBD as a medicinal tool to be brought into mainstream society. Inferno Coffee through Ignite will be a leading force in this movement of educating individuals about the benefits of CBD’s. This is an intrepid journey that we ask you to join us on.

Ignite your body, mind & soul.
